DJ Battle: 80s vs 90s
A week from now I’ll be going head to head against DJ BCKWLD in a battle to settle a long unanswered question: which decade had better music, the ’80s or ’90s?
As someone born in the 1980s, you know I’ll be ‘repping the ’80s hard.
If you’re new to this saga, you should know that this will actually be our third (DJ) fight. In our first encounter, I knocked BCKWLD out cold with vicious 1-2 combo in round 8 (“Don’t You Want Me” right into “Living on a Prayer”).
However, in our much anticipated re-match BCKWLD stunned the world with a massive TKO by way of “All Star” by Smash Mouth. Doctors thought I’d never spin again. I even started to believe them, to be honest.
But, motivated by the cold judgement and verbal abuse of a scrawny old Irishman down the block I decided to enter the DJ ring once again.
Of course, in epic style, our 3rd match will be in the biggest venue so far: Port City Music Hall (Portland, ME).
Stakes are high. Tensions are higher. I’ve been training really hard; BCKWLD doesn’t know what she’s up against. I’ll be wearing vintage Hammer pants.

See you there BCKWLD!
